**What's It All About Alfie?** we step back and look at life closely:
(from my NEW published self help book) "AWESOME SUCCESS PRINCIPLES"
" It seems like everyone's life today is so busy. It's like we're all riding on an out of control train that is speeding down a track, so fast we can't get off. N...o one seems to have any spare time for anything, its rush here and rush there. People drive so fast these days, not because they are late, but rather they have too much going on in their lives.
People wonder, "What's It All About Alfie?" What am I doing here? What is my purpose? And what happens after life on earth?
I study people closely. Many people today seem uncertain, frustrated and scared about the times we are in. They are looking for answers. Religion of any kind can help.
I Believe
I have my own strong beliefs. I believe in God. I believe that we were all created to be great. Some of us along the way have gotten off track with our thinking, but we can once again get back in the game.
I believe that we were each put on earth to make a difference of some kind. We were put here to help, to be a positive influence, and touch other lives. We are here to give back, not to keep taking. To lift someone up and never tear them down.
I believe that life on earth is very short. Shorter than what the average age of 85 works out to be in our minds. In other words, eternity is what we will ultimately have after life on earth.
I believe that we are given the opportunity to build a life here on earth, and one day we each will have to make a full accounting of that life, answering completely.
What if, my beliefs hold true? What if we all get to spend an eternity in the hereafter with all our loved ones? What if we get to review in precise detail, with our loved ones, each second of our lives? We have a scorecard here on earth, one most of us seem to ignore. But what if I am right, and we have to explain all of our actions, achievements, good deeds, charity, and help extended to others? What if?
I believe that everything on earth happens for a reason. Though sometimes sad things in life are very hard to understand and explain, they are here for our learning. When a child dies so young. When I come across a paralyzed man named Ken, who has been in a wheelchair for over 20 years, and can't move most of his body, it is for a reason. When I hear just the other day that a 36 year old woman, eight months pregnant, is run down and killed in a parking lot by a plow removing snow, and the baby is delivered, but may be brain damaged.
When I lose a school friend of mine Gil, who dies in a car accident, at age 19, and I have to deliver my first insurance death claim as a first year life insurance agent. It is all for a reason. I believe.
I believe that everything that happens on earth is God's plan to help us stay on track. To remind us that life on earth is but a second in time compared to the eternity we will all have after our life here is closed, and the diaries of our lives are each passed up to the place we will consider Heaven.
My belief is strong, but it is my own belief. It gives me peace. It drives me forward, motivating me to do more, to be more, to help more. But more than anything, I believe, with all my heart, that all my loved ones that have passed are rooting loudly for me in the hereafter. I believe I have an audience that I will once again be reunited with. But, I mostly believe that my biggest fan, from above, is God, and I cannot, I dare not disappoint Him. He created greatness when you and I were born, I will not insult him by giving Him back anything but greatness in return.

This is a fiction work that was inspired totally by accident, when the author won a diary on Ebay, penned in 1923, by a young woman. The diary of 365 pages, 1923, was fully handwritten, but the woman was only known as Lolita. I knew there was a story there somewhere, but more importantly the author was drawn into the time, the young woman, the love interest she had throughout the year.
Defying Death In Hagerstown:
We have a young Washington, newspaper reporter, who is rapidly self- destructing, after a bad breakup with his Fiancée, who left him for a young doctor. He's drinking, a real mess at work, and ready to be fired. His last chance assignment is to go to Hagerstown, Md. and interview a centenarian wonder woman of 110 years old, named Lolita, who resides in a Hagerstown nursing home.
All the reporter complains about is that this is an assignment from hell, and this woman is probably senile.
We later find out that Lolita is sharp as a tack, and the most philosophical person to come around in many years, someone everyone flocks to for life changing advise.
The reporter also learns that there exists a diary from 1923, a full years, handwritten out, that gives a real insight to what life was like for the old woman.
But he further learns that Lolita, in 1923, lived through a mass murder spree of 3 of her young girlfriends in Hagerstown that still was unsolved. The reporter sees a real story in the murders, and is consumed with investigating and solving this 90 year old mystery. But someone in Hagerstown is rattled by his nosing around, and bullets fly, and someone is killed.
The old diary comes into play again as the reporter tries to stay alive long enough to save his job, solve the mass murders, right a wrong, and fall deeper in love with the beautiful gray eyed Felicia, the nurse that tends to Lolita.

NEW SELF HELP BOOK: Awesome Suuccess Principles & Quotations, by John Paul Carinci now on AMAZON
"SUCCESS THROUGH A POSITIVE MENTOR" - article written in 1997 tells of how one man and a self help book changed my life at age 21, forever, and influenced me to write my own self help books many years later, so I could help others.
Now some 38 years after that chance meeting my own books have been published worldwide.
"Although it has been over twenty years, I can still remember my first year in the Insurance Business. It was the same year that I had the immense pleasure of meeting an extremely inspiring man named, Bob Richards.
My life Insurance career started with Chubb Colonial Life, on January 10, 1977. At age 21, I was by far the youngest Agent of my District office. The Insurance business was difficult for me in my first year. But somehow I made enough sales, on a pro-rata basis, to be invited to the company Sales Convention in May of 1977.
The company spring sales convention was held at Host Farm Pa.. Although I had not been with the company from the start of the qualification period, I was still thrilled to be allowed to qualify, based on only my few months of sales production.
The most exciting part of the Sales Convention, for me, was the meeting, that featured the special guest speaker; Bob Richards. Bob Richards was the Olympic champion track star, from the 1950's, who's picture graced the front of the Wheaties cereal box for 14 years. Bob, amazingly, won two Olympic Gold Medals, and one Olympic Silver Medal, in the
Pole Vault competition.
I can vividly remember, sitting in a large auditorium with the many other Agents, and Home Office personnel, waiting for the famous Bob Richards to speak.
As Bob Richards walked onto, and moved to center stage, he picked up a microphone and said; "Good Morning"! And with that, he abruptly put the microphone down on the floor, and moved it to the far side of the stage.
Despite the size of this large auditorium, this dynamic, energized, motivational speaker did not need a microphone.
Without it, his voice easily boomed over and filled the entire room. I can not remember exactly, what he spoke about, but when his session was over, I was super charged with his electrified enthusiasm. So much so, that I just had to go up to this man, and shake his hand.
I waited on line for approximately ten minutes to speak to Bob Richards. After I thanked him for his fine seminar, we spoke briefly. Mr. Richards asked me what my position with Chubb Colonial life was, I answered, "oh I am just an Agent."
With that Bob Richards said, "you must never, ever say that you are just an Agent, John, you are very important to this Company. John I want you to read a book as soon as you go home, all right?" "Of course Mr. Richards," was my response.
Bob Richards asked me to purchase, and read a book entitled; "Success Through A Positive Mental Attitude."
It was a positive self-help book, written by Napolean Hill, and W. Clement Stone. The book is published by; Prentice Hall in 1960.
I was only 21 years old at the time, and not very successful. I was still very unsure whether the Insurance business would be a long term career for me.
Of course, the moment I got home, I ran out to the local book store and purchased "Success Through A Positive Mental Attitude." And a strange thing happened. I just couldn't put this book down. Chapter after chapter, revealed intriguing, and inspiring stories, of rags to riches, and failures that became tremendous successes. These actual stories and insights, into the personal encounters of various individuals, that magically transformed their lives into successes, was just what a 21 year old struggling salesman needed.
The rest is history. My attitude improved tremendously. My confidence was lifted to new heights. I realized for the first time, that I was not merely selling policies, but I was helping families by guaranteeing their financial future, and the future of their children.
I slowly and systematically became a self confident power house. Where nothing, nor no one, could put out the fire of enthusiasm that was burning inside of me.
Never looking back, and only moving ahead. Not caring at all about money, although I was earning more, and more, every passing week. My sales was pushing me right to the top of the Production Sales Report. Even though I had no interest in Sales Reports, and I was only concerned with helping more families to protect their future. I had managed to help
myself, by helping others. It didn't even feel like work, to me, at this point.
From an Agent, I was promoted to a Sales Manager, in charge of a staff of Agents. Then from a Sales Manager, I was promoted to the District Manager. And at age 27, I now was the youngest District Manager ever, for Chubb Colonial Life, and running the entire Agency. As a District Manager, our Agency was always near the top of the company's sales charts
of leading Agencies.
The personal insights of those great men, such as Henry Ford, Edison, Einstein, Fuller, and Milo C. Jones, of Jones Pork Sausages, encouraged and inspired me. It convinced me that I can be anything I truly desired. And even if I failed at something, I can transform any failure into a positive success, through a powerful concept I learned called; "Inspirational Dissatisfaction."
After 11 years of working my way up, and increasing my income substantially. The Company decided to close all their Career Agency offices. It was a business decision, directed at getting out of the Career agent part of the business.
Chubb Colonial fired all the District Managers, and Agents. They took back my company leased car, and gave us all our walking papers.
I could have easily followed most of the other Managers and Agents, and go to work for another major Insurance company, such as Prudential, or Metropolitan. But after giving 110% to Chubb Colonial. After passing up numerous Management job offers along the way, to stay with Chubb Life. Only to be terminated along with everyone else. I vowed never
to let that happen again.
In 1987, after being terminated as District Manager. After losing all my Agents and General Agents, and finally left with no producers at all, and no office, I vowed to start over, once again.
My goal, my burning desire was to start my very own Agency. Somewhere where no one could ever fire me. Where I made the rules, and I picked the products and companies I chose to deal with.
It was a difficult journey, this new Agency. I was starting again from no income at all. For the first time in years, I had to start selling again for myself, after years of management. But I was consumed, once again I was fully committed, with this burning desire, for ultimate success.
Twenty four hours a day my mind was in a marketing phase. Either thoughts of marketing to prospects, new brokers, or prospective Insurance companies.
In my mind, there was no way that I could fail, the only question was how fast would I achieve all of my goals.
Failure never entered my mind. Although the first year was very lean.
With paid as earned commissions, it takes over a year to receive the full commissions, after a case is written.
Now over a decade later, as I look back, our Agency is doing extremely well. Each year we have increased the sales over the year before, by convincing percentages. Even though the particular products and companies have dramatically changed, due to industry changes. We to, just keep realigning, our marketing plan. Always with that same basic
goal in mind. We must increase sales over the previous year, and we must share the wealth in the process.
It is not only the Agency that must reap the rewards, but we must also reward the Brokers that help us Achieve our goals. Always keeping in mind, that it is the Brokers that keeps our Agency in business.
We must cater to the broker, and we as an Agency must be different. After all, the Broker can place their business elsewhere. We must continually give them a reason to want to do their business with us.
Whether it be an advance commission, or maybe bending the commission percentage rules on a particular case. We must strive to, and stay unique and aggressive. Anyone can be the same. But if we can shock a Broker, by doing something wonderful and rewarding for them. Then they will very naturally encourage fellow Brokers, we don't know, to start
using us. It really is that simple.
We must always attract new Brokers, because if we don't, just merely attrition alone will shrink our sale force. No matter how good we are, some Brokers dissolve back into the regular work place, for many different reasons. So I realized years ago, never to put all our eggs into one basket.
Talking with Bob Richards for three minutes, many years ago, is something I will never forget. It is truly amazing,
how one person can change someone else's life, with just a little encouragement. Just change their attitude of mind, and you can change their entire life. We all have the ability to be much greater than we are. All we need is for someone to press the correct series of buttons.
Would I have been a success, without that magical meeting with Bob Richards, and absorbing the Success Through A Positive Mental Attitude book? I don't know. But I do know this, after learning about attitudes, after reading encounter, after encounter, of people changing their attitude and becoming extremely successful. After learning that; "one could alter their life, by altering their attitude of mind." It made it that much easier to become positive, to stay positive, and stay focused. Through all the ups and downs that life inevitably throws our way.
Thank you Bob Richards, for touching my life. I wonder just how many others you have touched. And how many of those, who have been touched, have in turn touched others.
I too will try to touch and encourage others in my life. As I feel that I have become a; "Success Through A Positive Mentor." written C- 1997 John Paul Carinci http://www.amazon.com/Awesome-Success-Principles-Quotations-Carinci-ebook/dp/B00MRLXK9S/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1413674984&sr=1-1&keywords=carinci

The Most Unique Action Adventure Mystery Novel Of The Decade - now available on KINDLE
This is a fiction work that was inspired totally by
accident, when I won a diary on Ebay, penned in 1923, by a young woman. The
diary of 365 pages, 1923, was fully handwritten, but the woman was only known as
Lolita. I knew there was a story there somewhere, but more importantly I was
drawn into the time, the young woman, the love interest she had throughout the
year.
I was CONSUMED
with finding out who and whatever happened to this Lolita from Hagerstown Md. I
took me years to find out who she was, that she married the love interest, and
when she passed on.
SO, for my 9th
book I wrote a fiction novel, Defying Death In Hagerstown, based on a character
from Hagerstown, named Lolita.
We have a young
Washington, newspaper reporter, who is rapidly self- destructing, after a bad
breakup with his Fiancée, who left him for a young doctor. He's drinking, a real
mess at work, and ready to be fired. His last chance assignment is to go to
Hagerstown, Md. and interview a centenarian
wonder woman of 110 years old, named Lolita, who resides in a Hagerstown nursing
home.
All the
reporter complains about is that this is an assignment from hell, and this woman
is probably senile.
We later find
out that Lolita is sharp as a tack, and the most philosophical person to come
around in many years, someone everyone flocks to for life changing
advise.
The reporter
also learns that there exists a diary from 1923, a full years, handwritten out,
that gives a real insight to what life was like for the old
woman.
But he further
learns that Lolita, in 1923, lived through a mass murder spree of 3 of her young
girlfriends in Hagerstown that still was unsolved. The reporter sees a real
story in the murders, and is consumed with investigating and solving this 90
year old mystery. But someone in Hagerstown is rattled by his nosing around, and
bullets fly, and someone is killed.
The old diary
comes into play again as the reporter tries to stay alive long enough to save
his job, solve the mass murders, right a wrong, and fall deeper in love with the
beautiful gray eyed Felicia, the nurse that tends to Lolita.

Some Foreigners Maximize the all American Dream
Some Foreigners Maximize the all American Dream
America has always been called the land of opportunity.
Consider how many immigrants come to America today
knowing very little English and having limited formal
education and, yet, they have become successful. Most have
come to America with the right attitudes and the burning
desire to make their lives better and to succeed. I believe
many come believing they will be very successful, as long
as they work very hard.
You can understand why some immigrants are so
successful. Their minds are focused on the will to succeed.
They do not allow thoughts of failure to enter their minds.
The Power of Being Different
149
The immigrant is expected to make good and, ultimately,
he becomes something of a celebrity by all who know him
back home.
Failing to succeed in America for some immigrants is
tantamount to disgrace. To succeed is a matter of “Positive
Expectation.” Some people have great positive visualizations
of what they expect to achieve.
The next time you walk into a business establishment
and see a foreign business owner, just remember how long
and hard he has worked to get that business established. He
may have worked harder than an American citizen because
he had to overcome tremendous obstacles to come to this
country. As you look into his eyes, try to visualize the
dream that drove him to work so hard.
America, the land of opportunity.

"SUCCESS THROUGH A POSITIVE MENTOR"
"SUCCESS THROUGH A POSITIVE MENTOR" Written in 1997 tells of how one man and a self help book changed my life at age 21, forever, and influenced me to write my own self help books many years later, so I could help others. Now some 38 years after that chance meeting my own books have been published worldwide.
"Although it has been over twenty years, I can still remember my first year in the Insurance Business. It was the
same year that I had the immense pleasure of meeting an extremely inspiring man named, Bob Richards.
My life Insurance career started with Chubb Colonial Life, on January 10, 1977. At age 21, I was by far the
youngest Agent of my District office. The Insurance business was difficult for me in my first year. But somehow I made
enough sales, on a pro-rata basis, to be invited to the company Sales Convention in May of 1977.
The company spring sales convention was held at Host Farm Pa.. Although I had not been with the company from the start
of the qualification period, I was still thrilled to be allowed to qualify, based on only my few months of sales
production.
The most exciting part of the Sales Convention, for me, was the meeting, that featured the special guest speaker;
Bob Richards. Bob Richards was the Olympic champion track star, from the 1950's, who's picture graced the front of the
Wheaties cereal box for 14 years. Bob, amazingly, won two Olympic Gold Medals, and one Olympic Silver Medal, in the
Pole Vault competition.
I can vividly remember, sitting in a large auditorium with the many other Agents, and Home Office personnel,
waiting for the famous Bob Richards to speak.
As Bob Richards walked onto, and moved to center stage, he picked up a microphone and said; "Good Morning"! And with
that, he abruptly put the microphone down on the floor, and moved it to the far side of the stage.
Despite the size of this large auditorium, this dynamic, energized, motivational speaker did not need a microphone.
Without it, his voice easily boomed over and filled the entire room. I can not remember exactly, what he spoke about,
but when his session was over, I was super charged with his electrified enthusiasm. So much so, that I just had to go up
to this man, and shake his hand.
I waited on line for approximately ten minutes to speak to Bob Richards. After I thanked him for his fine seminar, we
spoke briefly. Mr. Richards asked me what my position with Chubb Colonial life was, I answered, "oh I am just an Agent."
With that Bob Richards said, "you must never, ever say that you are just an Agent, John, you are very important to this
Company.
The book is published by; Prentice Hall
in 1960.
I was only 21 years old at the time, and not very successful. I was still very unsure whether the Insurance
business would be a long term career for me.
Of course, the moment I got home, I ran out to the local book store and purchased "Success Through A Positive Mental
Attitude." And a strange thing happened. I just couldn't put this book down. Chapter after chapter, revealed intriguing,
and inspiring stories, of rags to riches, and failures that became tremendous successes. These actual stories and
insights, into the personal encounters of various individuals, that magically transformed their lives into
successes, was just what a 21 year old struggling salesman needed.
The rest is history. My attitude improved tremendously. My confidence was lifted to new heights. I realized for the
first time, that I was not merely selling policies, but I was helping families by guaranteeing their financial future, and
the future of their children.
I slowly and systematically became a self confident power house. Where nothing, nor no one, could put out the fire of
enthusiasm that was burning inside of me.
Never looking back, and only moving ahead. Not caring at all about money, although I was earning more, and more, every
passing week. My sales was pushing me right to the top of the Production Sales Report. Even though I had no interest in
Sales Reports, and I was only concerned with helping more families to protect their future. I had managed to help
myself, by helping others. It didn't even feel like work, to me, at this point.
From an Agent, I was promoted to a Sales Manager, in charge of a staff of Agents. Then from a Sales Manager, I was
promoted to the District Manager. And at age 27, I now was the youngest District Manager ever, for Chubb Colonial Life,
and running the entire Agency. As a District Manager, our Agency was always near the top of the company's sales charts
of leading Agencies.
The personal insights of those great men, such as Henry Ford, Edison, Einstein, Fuller, and Milo C. Jones, of Jones
Pork Sausages, encouraged and inspired me. It convinced me that I can be anything I truly desired. And even if I failed
at something, I can transform any failure into a positive success, through a powerful concept I learned called;
"Inspirational Dissatisfaction."
After 11 years of working my way up, and increasing my income substantially. The Company decided to close all their
Career Agency offices. It was a business decision, directed at getting out of the Career agent part of the business.
Chubb Colonial fired all the District Managers, and Agents. They took back my company leased car, and gave us all
our walking papers.
I could have easily followed most of the other Managers and Agents, and go to work for another major Insurance
company, such as Prudential, or Metropolitan. But after giving 110% to Chubb Colonial. After passing up numerous
Management job offers along the way, to stay with Chubb Life. Only to be terminated along with everyone else. I vowed never
to let that happen again.
In 1987, after being terminated as District Manager. After losing all my Agents and General Agents, and finally
left with no producers at all, and no office, I vowed to start over, once again.
My goal, my burning desire was to start my very own Agency. Somewhere where no one could ever fire me. Where I
made the rules, and I picked the products and companies I chose to deal with.
It was a difficult journey, this new Agency. I was starting again from no income at all. For the first time in
years, I had to start selling again for myself, after years of management. But I was consumed, once again I was fully
committed, with this burning desire, for ultimate success.
Twenty four hours a day my mind was in a marketing phase. Either thoughts of marketing to prospects, new brokers, or
prospective Insurance companies.
Each year we have increased the sales
over the year before, by convincing percentages. Even though the particular products and companies have dramatically
changed, due to industry changes. We to, just keep realigning, our marketing plan. Always with that same basic
goal in mind. We must increase sales over the previous year, and we must share the wealth in the process.
It is not only the Agency that must reap the rewards, but we must also reward the Brokers that help us Achieve our
goals. Always keeping in mind, that it is the Brokers that keeps our Agency in business.
We must cater to the broker, and we as an Agency must be different. After all, the Broker can place their business
elsewhere. We must continually give them a reason to want to do their business with us.
Whether it be an advance commission, or maybe bending the commission percentage rules on a particular case. We must
strive to, and stay unique and aggressive. Anyone can be the same. But if we can shock a Broker, by doing something
wonderful and rewarding for them. Then they will very naturally encourage fellow Brokers, we don't know, to start
using us. It really is that simple.
We must always attract new Brokers, because if we don't, just merely attrition alone will shrink our sale force. No
matter how good we are, some Brokers dissolve back into the regular work place, for many different reasons. So I realized
years ago, never to put all our eggs into one basket.
Talking with Bob Richards for three minutes, many years ago, is something I will never forget. It is truly amazing,
how one person can change someone else's life, with just a little encouragement. Just change their attitude of mind, and
you can change their entire life. We all have the ability to be much greater than we are. All we need is for someone to
press the correct series of buttons.
Would I have been a success, without that magical meeting with Bob Richards, and absorbing the Success Through A
Positive Mental Attitude book? I don't know. But I do know this, after learning about attitudes, after reading
encounter, after encounter, of people changing their attitude and becoming extremely successful. After learning that; "one
could alter their life, by altering their attitude of mind." It made it that much easier to become positive, to stay
positive, and stay focused. Through all the ups and downs that life inevitably throws our way.
Thank you Bob Richards, for touching my life. I wonder just how many others you have touched. And how many of those,
who have been touched, have in turn touched others.
I too will try to touch and encourage others in my life. As I feel that I have become a; "Success Through A Positive
Mentor." C- 1997 John Paul Carinci
"More Than A Man"
He is more than a man,
who lifts another up,
who convinces us all that we can,
and inspires greatness - through his giving.
Who plants a seed of hope,
deep in someone else,
then watches it blossom and grow.
Someone who never lets you down.
No, he is more than a man.
He is someone to lean on,
though he may not be near.
And just the thought of his belief,
can help us master our fear.
He is, which inspires us to be.
Our faith endures,
with his enthusiasm as our memory.
Yes, he is more than a man,
he is the messenger of our inspiration.

BEST NEW SELF HELP BOOK: "Awesome Success Principles"
**What's It All About Alfie?**
*************************
Step back and look at life closely:
(from my NEW published self help book) "AWESOME SUCCESS PRINCIPLES"
http://www.amazon.com/Awesome-Success-Principles-Quotations-Carinci-ebook/dp/B00MRLXK9S/ref=sr_1_1_title_1_kin?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1411849957&sr=1-1&keywords=carinci
